Reduce Banishers Fan Noise
In Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, my Noctua NH-D14 fan speed spiked to 2500 RPM, creating abnormal noise that ruined the immersion. I tried increasing the page file size, but it failed and dropped my frame rate from 60 FPS to 45 FPS, which was disheartening. I then accessed the GamePP Fan Curve Configuration panel and reduced the fan speed from 2500 RPM to 1800 RPM. I also raised the thermal threshold from 70°C to 75°C. After fine-tuning to 1500 RPM, I used AIDA64 for a noise test. The noise level converged from 45 dB to 35-38 dB. This set of adjustments restored a quiet gaming environment while maintaining safe CPU temperatures during intense exploration scenes.
