Silent Hill 2 i9 13900K Thermal Fix
The horror atmosphere in Silent Hill 2 Remake was ruined by severe stuttering. My Intel i9 13900K was hitting 100℃, triggering thermal throttling that dropped the frame rate from 120 to 45 FPS. I initially tried increasing the page file size, hoping to offload some pressure, but the frame rate actually dropped further to 40 FPS. It was a dead end. I then used the GamePP BIOS Load Line Voltage Wizard. I switched the Load Line from Auto to Manual, set it to L4 mode, and adjusted the VCCSA voltage from 1.20V down to 1.15V. The difference was night and day. An AIDA64 stress test confirmed the core temperature converged to 82-85℃. The frame rate recovered to a stable 110-120 FPS.
