Fixing Silent Hill 2 Screen Freezes
Walking through those foggy streets was a nightmare, but not for the right reasons; every new area triggered a 0.3s freeze that ruined the tension. I attempted to increase virtual memory to 32GB, but that failed miserably and actually added 2 seconds to my loading times. I then used GamePP NVMe Queue Depth Configurator to raise the read queue depth from Default to 1024 and enabled forced write cache flush. It worked perfectly; RivaTuner showed a smooth frame curve, and CrystalDiskInfo confirmed SSD temps stayed at 42-48℃.
