Solving Loading Stutter in Mass Effect Legendary Edition
Switching planets in Mass Effect Legendary Edition was a pain. The loading screen would freeze for 15 seconds because background processes were eating 1.5-2.2GB of bandwidth. I tried increasing the page file size to 16GB to help, but it backfired, dropping my frame rate from 60 to 48 FPS and making the stutter worse. I realized I needed to prioritize the game. I used the GamePP Resource Scheduler to set the game process to Real-time priority and disabled non-core background sync services.
