How to stop screen tearing on Sapphire PURE Polar RX 9070 XT?
The screen gets these weird horizontal breaks whenever I flick the camera quickly, and at 4K, it's honestly nauseating. Looking at the logs, the Sapphire RX 9070 XT drivers had a 2-5ms sync offset while handling FreeSync, meaning the refresh rate and frame delivery were completely out of whack. I tried turning on V-Sync in-game, but that pushed my input lag over 40ms—it felt like I was playing in mud, which is a hard pass. I eventually updated to the latest Beta drivers, disabled 'Fullscreen Optimizations' in the .exe properties, and switched the sync mode to 'Enhanced'. In RivaTuner, the frame intervals dropped from 11-30ms down to a clean 8-12ms, and the tearing vanished. I did hit a snag where the PC black-screened and rebooted during the first launch after the update, but a fresh chipset driver install sorted it. GPU temps are now hovering between 62-68℃ and the frame comparison tool shows signals are perfectly aligned, with VRAM staying at 58-63℃.
