How to stop ADATA ValueRAM DDR3 1600 flickering in Avowed?
The flickering was most obvious when galloping through the woods; distant building textures were jumping around like fragmented shards. The default config for this ADATA ValueRAM DDR3 1600 was causing latency spikes between 95-118ns, leading to microsecond sync errors in data transmission. My first instinct was to drop texture quality to Medium, but that just made the game look like mud without actually solving the core issue, which felt like a total cop-out. I went into the advanced memory settings in the BIOS, tightened the primary timings from 11-11-11-28 down to 9-9-9-24, and pushed the voltage from 1,5V to 1,6V. Using a latency analyzer, I saw the delay drop to 82-88ns, and the flickering vanished completely. I did blue-screen three times while pushing the timings initially, but loosening the tRAS to 30 stabilized everything. RAM temps sat at 48-54,C while the chipset hit 62-68,C. After four full passes of MemTest86 with zero errors, the temps stayed between 46-51,C.
