Fixing Fanxiang S790 4TB link stability in AC Valhalla

There is nothing more frustrating than galloping across the English countryside only to see distant buildings turn into blurry blobs. This is basically the storage link choking and triggering data re-transmissions under heavy load. The Fanxiang S790 4TB was constantly flipping between Gen4 and Gen3 while streaming 4K textures, causing the effective bandwidth to swing wildly between 3000 MB/s and 6500 MB/s. I tried enabling super-resolution in the drivers first, but while the edges looked sharper, the muddy textures stayed—I knew then it was a hardware-level handshake issue. I dove into the BIOS and forced the M.2 slot to Gen4 instead of 'Auto' and slapped an active heatsink on the drive. After a three-hour session, the texture flickering that used to happen every ten minutes completely stopped. I did notice the idle power draw jumped by about 1W after locking the protocol, but a few tweaks to the power management plan fixed that. Temps are holding steady at 48-54℃ with a smooth read/write curve. Tested it across multiple raids and the pop-in is gone, with memory temps staying around 58-63℃.
