Is voltage instability causing crashes in Metro Awakening?

Every time I entered a dark tunnel, the game would just vanish to the desktop without a word. It was nerve-wracking. My ADATA Valueram 8GB DDR3 1600 was fluctuating around 1.50V, causing the memory controller to throw checksum errors under load. I tried disabling every single background app, but the crashes kept happening—it was a total shot in the dark. I finally went into the BIOS and swapped DRAM voltage from Auto to a locked 1.55V and pinned the frequency at 1600MHz. In AIDA64 stress tests, the read/write speed stabilized at 12.2-12.8GB/s, and the crashes stopped completely. I did have two cold boot failures at first, but a CMOS clear fixed it. Temps are 45-52℃ for RAM and 58-64℃ for the VRM. Four hours of gameplay and not a single crash.
