How to fix RT500 Digital overheating crashes in The Division?
Man, that RT500 digital screen looks cool, but seeing '98°C' right before my screen went black was like a death warning. It was an absolute slog trying to play a game that felt like a survival sim just to keep the PC on. The RT500 fins were struggling with the poor optimization of the new game, with temps bouncing between 85°C - 95°C. I tried undervolting the CPU by 0.1V in the BIOS, but the game started crashing every ten minutes—a total joke of a solution. I eventually used the software to bump the temp alert threshold from 90°C to 95°C and forced the fans to 2400 RPM at 80°C. In OCCT, the temps settled at 88°C - 92°C without any restarts. I accidentally messed up the RGB sync and the screen started flickering like crazy, but a software reboot fixed it. The fans sound like a jet engine now, but at least it doesn't crash. I've exported all the crash logs and temp data for the record.
