Why does FF7 Rebirth stutter during battle switches?

Every time I switched units in FF7 Rebirth, the game hitched. I tried tweaking virtual memory, but it only made the drive conflicts worse. I used GamePP's NVMe Config to bump queue depth from 1024 to 2048 and forced write cache refresh. CrystalDiskMark showed 4K random reads jumping to 68-75MB/s. Load times dropped from 12s to 5s, and drive temps stayed at 42-55°C, letting me export my save files without any lag spikes.
