Tuning Memory Controller Priority
This X79 platform felt like walking through mud; whenever large explosions triggered, my FPS plummeted from 60 to 15, which was a total pain. I first tried forcing single-channel mode in the BIOS, but the frame rate was instantly halved—a disastrous attempt that went the wrong way. I then used the GamePP Resource Scheduler to elevate the memory controller priority to real-time and bumped voltage to 1.55V. RTSS showed frame times converging from 16-55ms to 13-18ms, while AIDA64 confirmed latency dropped from 110-135ns to 72-78ns, and HWiNFO showed temps at 48-55℃.
