Can chipset drivers fix I/O lag on Biostar A320MH PRO?

This motherboard feels like it's gasping for air with a game this size; I/O latency was spiking to 100ms, making the screen tear like a piece of scrap paper. I tried moving the game files to an SSD cache partition, but while it shaved 2 seconds off the load time, the in-game micro-stutters persisted, which was just ridiculous. I ended up flashing the chipset drivers to the latest version and forced the Disk Write Caching on in the Registry. Checking the frame time graphs, the jitter dropped from 20-50ms to a tight 15-22ms. I actually bricked my USB ports during the first driver update attempt, which gave me a heart attack, but a rollback and clean install fixed it. CPU usage stays around 70-85% and RAM is hovering at 12GB. I exported the latency logs to a text file and the throughput is finally where it needs to be.
