Why does DEATHLOOP stutter even with a Samsung 990 PRO 4TB?

It was infuriating that even my flagship 4TB drive had micro-stutters, with response times jumping from 0.1ms to 15ms per HWiNFO during loop restarts. I tried forcing PCIe Gen 4 in the BIOS, but the frequency of the stutters remained exactly the same. I then used the GamePP NVMe Queue Depth Configuration to push the depth to 2048 and enabled the Windows write cache flush. My frame times finally converged to 12-18ms per FrameView, and HWiNFO showed the disk stayed cool at 45-55℃.
