Tuning the ML360 SUB-ZERO Peltier cooler for Control 2?
This Peltier cooler is an absolute power hog; I could practically hear the electric meter spinning, and then the system just froze. The ML360 SUB-ZERO's cooling module pulls over 200W at full tilt, which pushed my motherboard VRMs to a scorching 95-102℃, leading to an instant crash. I tried maxing out all the case fans, but it sounded like a construction site and only dropped the temp by 2℃—it was almost laughable. I decided to cap the Peltier cooling power to 70% in the software and forced the front intake fans to max. HWInfo showed the VRM temps dropping from 100℃ to a manageable 78-82℃, while the CPU cores sat at a ridiculously low 45-52℃. I did have a weird moment where the module stopped spinning briefly when I first capped the power, but a software update cleared that up. Pump speed is now steady at 3000 RPM, and total power draw dropped by 60W. Exported the crash logs via the system analyzer, and the stress test data is finally out.
