Solving DRAM-less SSD Latency
Frozen frames and blurred textures are a total disaster in a horror game designed for atmosphere. I tried closing all background download tasks, but this had almost no impact on disk I/O, and loading times remained over 15 seconds, which felt ironic and powerless. I finally entered the GamePP NVMe Queue Depth Configuration and increased the queue depth to 2048. The difference was night and day; CrystalDiskMark showed 4K random reads rose to 62-68MB/s, random read latency dropped from 120-150ms via CrystalDiskMark, and drive temps stayed 42-50℃ per HWMonitor.
