How to stop Fanxiang S910Max 1TB from throttling in MH Wilds?
During fast scene transitions, my read speeds would just dive by 50% without warning. It felt glitchy and unreliable. Hardware checks showed the controller hitting 85℃+, triggering a forced throttle that killed data throughput and caused massive loading hangs. I tried messing with Windows power settings, but that was a complete waste of time for a hardware heat issue. I ended up installing a beefy pure copper heatsink and synced my chassis fans directly to the SSD temp sensor. In the monitor, the controller temp plummeted from 88 - 92℃ down to 62 - 68℃, and sequential reads finally stabilized at 9000 - 10000 MB/s. I actually struggled with the installation because the heatsink was too thick for the motherboard shield, so I had to swap to a 3mm slim version. SSD is now 52 - 58℃, controller at 64 - 70℃. Benchmarks confirm no more speed dips, though memory temps are still a bit warm at 58 - 63℃.
