Fixing storage bandwidth issues on Galax B760M D4 Wi-Fi?

Whenever I hit a loading screen for a closed area, the game would just hang for a split second. In a horror game, that kind of stutter completely kills the atmosphere. Monitoring showed the Galax B760M D4 M.2 slot was swinging between 70-90% bandwidth utilization during heavy reads, pushing load latency up to 18-30ms. I tried closing background apps, but that barely freed any RAM and didn't touch the hardware bottleneck. I updated the BIOS to version 1.2 and forced the PCIe mode to Gen4 instead of Auto. In CrystalDiskMark, random reads jumped from 40MB/s to 54-58MB/s, and the transition stutters basically disappeared. One annoying thing: the BIOS update reset my boot order, so it didn't post the first time until I fixed the boot drive. Chipset temps are stable at 44-51℃, and frame times are now locked at 5.1-6.4ms.
