My Onda 9D4-DVH has terrible I/O response when loading main cities in WoW. Do I need to optimize the disk scheduler?

Staring at a loading screen for an eternity just to enter a city is a complete joke in 2026. The SATA interface on the Onda 9D4-DVH was hitting I/O wait times of 120-150ms when reading small files, which completely choked the game assets. I tried enabling write caching in Windows, but it only shaved off 2 seconds and actually corrupted some files after a power flicker, which was incredibly depressing. I went into the BIOS to ensure AHCI was fully enabled and switched the disk scheduling policy from Fair Scheduling to the Completely Fair Queuing (CFQ) equivalent. In CrystalDiskMark, random 4K reads jumped from 0,5MB/s to 1,2MB/s, and city load times dropped from 45 seconds to 22 seconds. My boot time actually slowed down by 5 seconds initially, but reconfiguring the boot partition fixed it. Disk temps are 38-44C. I exported the registry tweaks to a backup, and the game finally feels snappy. No more staring at the void.
