Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition keeps crashing due to out-of-memory on Kingston HyperX Savage 8GB. Fix?

Modern games are just cruel to 8GB of RAM; running the Enhanced Edition is basically a torture test. I started by killing every single background app, even my IME, but the game still crashed after ten minutes. A total waste of time. I messed with the page file, finding that a fixed 16GB size reduced crashes but added 30 seconds to load times. Eventually, I used the GamePP System Backup & Config Export Tool to create a memory image backup of my optimized page file mapping and priority list. By forcing non-core memory pages into a high-speed SSD cache, RAM usage stayed at 92%, but the system-level OOM crashes stopped.
