Can page file tweaks fix 8GB RAM lag in Kai no Kiseki?
Running this game on 8GB of RAM is pure torture. Just loading a city area makes my PC sound like a jet engine taking off. Since the game wants at least 12GB, the system is forcing 70% of the data into the page file, pushing I/O wait times up to 180,0 - 320,0ms. I tried dropping every setting to the absolute minimum, and while FPS went from 25 to 35, the stuttering stayed exactly the same—totally useless. I manually locked the virtual memory to 24GB on my SSD and forced the game process priority to 'High' in Task Manager, while disabling all Windows Update services. In Resource Monitor, the memory pressure dropped from 99% to 91%. It still hitches occasionally, but at least it doesn't crash every ten minutes. I actually tried 'Realtime' priority first, but my mouse started lagging, so I backed it off to 'High'. RAM temps are 40,0 - 46,0°C. I backed up these settings via a system image, but honestly, just buy more RAM.
