Managing memory pressure for HyperX Savage 8GB in Dragon Age
It was a complete disaster. Trying to run a 2026 AAA title on 8GB of RAM is like trying to race a tractor on a highway—it stutters every two minutes. The usage was pegged at 7.8GB, forcing the system to spam the page file and spiking disk I/O to 100%. It was beyond frustrating. I first tried turning off all shadows and textures, but the game looked like a pixelated mess, which was just insulting to my eyes. Instead, I manually moved the virtual memory to my fastest NVMe partition and locked it at a fixed 16GB-16GB size, while using a script to kill every single unnecessary background process. In Resource Monitor, the page faults dropped from 120/sec to a much cleaner 15-22/sec. I had one slow boot after setting the fixed page file, but disabling Superfetch fixed it. RAM temps are around 40-46℃. I've backed up the config, and the input response finally feels snappy again.
