Fixing CPU heat soak on Thermalright PA120 SE in Control 2?
When the physics debris gets crazy, my CPU temps would spike straight to 95℃. This heat soak caused aggressive throttling, tanking my frames from 80 down to 45—it was absolutely infuriating. I noticed the PA120 SE's default curve was way too slow to react before 80℃, letting heat build up in the core. I tried undervolting in the BIOS, but that was a mistake—temps dropped 5℃, but I got a Blue Screen after 20 minutes. Total waste of time. I switched to the GamePP Fan Curve Config Panel, aggressively steepened the slope between 70℃ - 90℃, and set a CPU voltage offset of -0.050V. On the sensor page, core temps dropped from 92-98℃ down to a manageable 72-78℃, and frames stabilized above 75.
