Fixing Fanxiang S910PRO overheating in BioShock 4
Every time I enter a complex building, the game turns into a slideshow. Having a PCIe 5,0 drive throttle this hard is honestly ridiculous. The Fanxiang S910PRO was hitting 85-90 C under load, triggering a throttle that halved the speed and pushed I/O wait times to 160 ms. I tried adding more case fans, but the temp only dropped by 2 C, which was a useless effort. I ended up reseating the stock heatsink with 0,8 mm high-perf thermal pads and disabled PCIe Link State Power Management in the power settings. HWInfo now shows peak temps capped at 65-71 C, with reads staying above 10,000 MB/s. I noticed a slight increase in idle power draw after disabling power management, but adjusting the sleep mode fixed that. Temps are now 45-52 C, and the game finally feels responsive again.
