Why does my Jonsbo CR-1000MAX fan make a grinding noise in Hellblade II?

I was losing my mind hearing that dry grind from the Jonsbo CR-1000MAX Standard Edition while playing Senua's Saga: Hellblade II. I tried locking the fan to 1500 RPM, but HWiNFO64 showed CPU temps spiking to 88℃. Frustrated, I opened the GamePP Fan Curve Configuration Panel, raised the PWM threshold from 60℃ to 70℃, and re-applied grease. Now, HWiNFO64 confirms temps stay at 78℃ and noise dropped from 45dB to 38dB. It finally feels smooth again.
