Is background VRAM hijacking causing stutters in God of War
This started as a total nightmare. Per test report 2025-SWR-01 on Windows 11 24H2, HWiNFO showed VRAM usage swinging wildly between 14.2GB and 15.8GB during ray-tracing peaks. I spent days obsessing over driver updates, which did absolutely nothing, and I almost gave up. Finally, I dived into the Task Manager details tab and forced the game process priority to High while killing useless startup services. HWiNFO kemudian displayed a stabilized range of 13.5GB to 14.1GB, and those jarring hitches vanished. However, a slight micro-stutter persists during massive scene transitions, likely a kernel-level scheduling ceiling. My heart finally slowed down as the movement became buttery smooth.
