Fixing CPU Thermal Throttling
I was building a metropolis of 100,000 people when my CPU temps soared to 88-94℃ per AIDA64, causing frequencies to swing wildly between 3.2GHz and 4.8GHz. It totally killed the simulation flow. I tried reducing the maximum processor state to 99% in Windows, but while temps dropped by 5℃, the simulation speed became unbearably slow. I then used the GamePP Fan Curve Configuration Panel to set a 70℃ aggressive trigger point and ramped fans to 1800 RPM. After two hours, temps locked at 76-82℃ per AIDA64 and fluctuations narrowed to ±100MHz per HWInfo64.
