Why does Atomic Heart keep hitching on my RTX 5060 8GB?
Whenever I step into the facility interiors, the 8GB VRAM on my Manli Nebula RTX 5060 gets absolutely hammered by high-res textures, forcing the system to lean on virtual memory and causing massive freezes over 200ms. I first tried dropping textures to Medium, which brought VRAM usage down to 6.2GB, but the blurry textures were a total eyesore and honestly felt like a joke. I ended up manually locking the system page file to 32GB and disabled the automatic sizing, while toggling the VRAM Optimization mode in the GPU Control Panel. Checking HWiNFO, my frame times tightened up from a wild 15-45ms swing to a steady 12-18ms, and that annoying loading lag basically vanished. It's funny because 16GB of virtual memory didn't even cut it; I had to double it to 32GB to actually kill the overflow spikes. Core temps stayed between 64-71℃ with VRAM hovering around 78-85℃. I ran a stress test and can confirm no more memory swap crashes, with frame times locked in at 12-18ms.
