My Samsung 9100 PRO 8TB is triggering thermal throttling during open-world loads in Neverness to Everness. Should I switch the protocol mode?

Absolutely mind-blowing! The moment I forced the interface protocol to PCIe 5.0 instead of 'Auto', the load speeds just took off. When the 8TB 9100 PRO handles massive city assets in compatibility mode, sequential reads hover around 4000MB/s, which causes a noticeable hitch when entering new areas.
