How to stop power limit throttling on Vastarmor RX 9070 XT?
The second Kratos swings his axe, my frame rate would dive from 90 to 50, which is absolutely lethal in a fight. The Vastarmor RX 9070 XT was spiking to 300W and hitting the internal power limit, causing the boost clock to crash from 2600MHz down to 1800MHz instantly. I tried lowering the global settings, but it killed the visual impact, and I wasn't about to settle for a mediocre experience. I went into the advanced driver settings and pushed the power limit to 110% while switching the fan curve to Aggressive. In real-time monitoring, the core clock finally stayed between 2550-2650MHz, and frame times converged from 11-25ms to a tight 9-13ms. Initially, the VRAM temp hit 95℃ after the power bump, but I managed to bring it down by adding more intake fans to the case. GPU temps now sit at 74-81℃ with fans at 1800 RPM. Switched performance modes and the clocks are finally stable.
