Fixing Thermal Throttling on Jonsbo CR-1400 in Frostpunk 2
When my 1% lows finally stabilized above 60 FPS, the feeling of actually controlling my hardware was a huge relief. At first, during the winter survival simulations, the screen would have these frequent micro-freezes. The GamePP sensor page showed CPU temps swinging violently between 88-95°C, causing clocks to bounce from 3.0-4.0 GHz. I tried 'High Performance' mode in Windows, but it just made the fans louder without dropping the temps—totally ineffective. I then used the GamePP Fan Curve Config Panel to set an aggressive response for anything over 75°C and optimized the PWM startup voltage.
