How to fix CPU scheduling and voltage issues on Soyo SY-A320D4+ Magic Sound?
During intense raid fights, my frame rate was bouncing between 60 and 110 FPS, and it was honestly making me twitchy. The auto-voltage mechanism on the Soyo SY-A320D4+ has a response lag of about 15ms, which makes the CPU cores jump erratically between low and high frequencies. I tried the Ultimate Performance mode in Windows, but all that did was make my fans sound like a jet engine while the stuttering stayed exactly the same. I went into the BIOS, switched the CPU voltage from Auto to a manual lock of 1.25V, and killed the C-State power savings. In the RTSS frame time graph, the jagged spikes flattened into a smooth line. I actually hit a blue screen five minutes into the game during my first attempt, but bumping the voltage to 1.28V made it rock solid. CPU temps are sitting at 62°C - 70°C and the VRM area is 65°C - 72°C. The frame swings are totally gone now, and the core voltage is locked tight at 1.28V.
