Stopping Frequency Throttling
Running through Midgar, the frame rate would suddenly crash from 45 to 20, making combat feel choppy. I tried lowering all in-game settings to minimum; while FPS went up, the game looked like a relic from the last century, which made me want a more aggressive solution. I used the GamePP Power Plan Switcher to force High Performance mode and set the driver to Maximum Performance. RTSS showed core frequency stabilized at 1750-1820MHz, frame time converged to 18-24ms, and GPU-Z measured power at 120-130W.
