Optimizing NVMe Queue Depth
Driving through Night City felt jarring as the screen would periodically freeze due to extreme IO blocking under Path Tracing. I tried disabling all unnecessary background services, which lowered RAM usage but didn't touch the disk latency, making me realize the bottleneck was the underlying queue. I used GamePP NVMe Queue Depth Configuration to boost the depth from 32 to 128 and forced high-performance mode. CrystalDiskMark showed 4K reads rising to 68-75MB/s, and HWMonitor confirmed temperatures at 42-55℃ with random read latency spikes of 110-140ms gone.
