How to stop VRM thermal throttling on Soyo SY-Classic B660M?

Watching my FPS bounce between 60 and 35 was pure anxiety, especially when the streets filled with ghosts—it was a total nightmare. The Soyo B660M's power stages were hitting 102-108℃, forcing the board to slash clock speeds to save itself. I tried switching the Windows power plan to 'Balanced,' but that just tanked my minimums to 20 FPS, which made the experience even worse. My fix was a bit janky: I rigged a 4cm spot fan to blow directly onto the VRM chokes and manually capped the PL1 power limit at 115W. Monitoring via HWMonitor showed VRM temps drop to 85-89℃, and the FPS swing narrowed from 18 frames to just 4. I actually messed up the fan header at first and had it spinning backward, which was a facepalm moment. Now the CPU stays around 78-84℃, and the input lag is finally gone.
