Solving PCIe bandwidth issues on MSI PRO B760M-A WIFI D4 II?
During fast slashing attacks, I noticed these tiny hitches that make the game feel clunky, which is deadly in a high-skill action game. Monitoring showed that the PCIe 4.0 link on the MSI PRO B760M-A was frequently downclocking under load, causing SSD read speeds to swing wildly between 3500 MB/s and 800 MB/s. I tried disabling background services, but while RAM usage dropped, the latency stayed high—a complete waste of time. I updated the BIOS to the latest version and forced the PCIe slot to Gen4 mode instead of leaving it on 'Auto'. In CrystalDiskMark, the random 4K read latency dropped from 55 ms to a tight 32 - 38 ms, and the loading stutters vanished.
