Stabilizing Kingston FURY 8GB DDR3 1866 for Genshin Impact
I thought this old rig could handle it, but once I entered the Sumeru rainforest, the core voltage drifted from 1.5V down to 1.3V, which caused a runtime library crash. I tried limiting the processor state to 99% in Windows, but my FPS tanked from 60 to 42, which was just frustrating. I went into the BIOS, swapped the power management from Power Saving to High Performance, and locked the RAM voltage at 1.55V. Using Core Temp, I saw the voltage stabilize at 1.53-1.56V, and frame times tightened from 19-32ms to 15-18ms. The High Performance mode initially pushed the CPU to 92℃, so I had to set a more aggressive fan curve to keep it in check. RAM now stays at 44-50℃ and VRMs are at 72-80℃. Switching the performance mode fixed the drops, and the game finally stays open.
