Reducing Random Read Latency
While traversing dense forests, I felt disgusted as the screen would freeze instantly before resources suddenly popped in. I tried enabling Fast Startup in Windows, but loading times didn't improve at all, which was a completely useless attempt. I then used the GamePP NVMe Queue Depth Configuration to increase the read queue depth to 1024 and enabled forced write cache flush. CrystalDiskMark showed 4K random read speed increased from 50MB/s to 72MB/s, and SSD temperature stabilized at 48-55℃ per AIDA64.
