Fixing VRM thermal throttling on Colorful B450M-T M.2 V14
The neon streets looked great, but my frame rate was plummeting from 80 FPS to 30 FPS without warning, and the stuttering felt absolutely terrible. Looking at HWiNFO, the VRM area on my Colorful B450M-T M.2 V14 was hitting 92°C - 98°C, triggering aggressive thermal throttling. My first instinct was to undervolt the CPU cores in BIOS; it dropped temps by 5°C, but the system BSOD'd after thirty minutes, which was a completely reckless move. I then switched to the GamePP Fan Curve Config Panel and forced the mid-case auxiliary fan to 100% once it hit 60°C. The GamePP Hardware Sensor Page showed VRM temps dropping to 75°C - 81°C, and CPU clock fluctuations narrowed from 800MHz to just 100MHz.
