Monitoring VRM thermal load on Onda B760ITX-B4 in MSFS 2024
During a low-altitude dive, the screen had this tiny, annoying twitch, which is super obvious at 4K resolution. I opened the GamePP Hardware Sensor Page and saw the Onda B760ITX-B4 VRMs climbing to 88°C - 94°C on HWiNFO; it wasn't shutting down, but the CPU clock was definitely dipping. I first tried lowering cloud quality in-game, but the stutters stayed, proving it was a motherboard thermal issue rather than a GPU bottleneck, which made me feel more confident in my direction. I then went into the GamePP Fan Curve Config Panel and forced the top exhaust fans to 90% once they hit 70°C. RTSS frame time analysis showed a drop from 18-30ms to a steady 16-20ms, and the lag vanished.
