Thermalright PA120 SE cooling check and temp backup
When dealing with massive physics debris, my CPU hit 95℃, and the thermal throttling was insane, tanking my FPS from 80 down to 45. It was driving me crazy. I found that the Thermalright PA120 SE's default fan curve was way too slow before 80℃, letting heat build up in the core. I first tried undervolting in the BIOS, but while temps dropped 5℃, the system BSOD'd after 20 minutes. I had to vent my frustration. Then I used the GamePP Fan Curve Config Panel to aggressively steepen the 70-90℃ curve and set a -0.05V voltage offset. On the sensor page, core temps dropped from 92-98℃ to a manageable 72-78℃, and FPS stabilized above 75.
